I finally figured out how to make my own error pages!
Wanna see them?
https://tuckle.net/failed_auth.php
https://tuckle.net/forbidden.php
https://tuckle.net/missing.php
https://tuckle.net/internal_error.php
I like them. I got a Milla thing in case you did not know.

Well not entirely, but figuring out how to use PHP Includes is pretty damn orgasmic.

Whew.
I am not a CSS guru by any stretch of the imagination, and trying to read php is new… but YAY!
I love the way Wordpress works, the way it looks, and I am going to make it my Bitch.
So. Watch out.

Rori to Houston…
we have achieved liftoff.
New Domain name?
Check.
Domain redirect?
Not permanently, but new index sending visitors here - Check
MT entried Imported?
Check
Hope you all enjoy. And, as I suspect you know, styles will be changing.

Please do not take it personal if you do not see your comments right away.
I have to come in and approve all of them until Blacklist for MT 3.0 is available.
This keeps fucking away.
Mr. P3nis Enlarg3ment keeps bombarding me, as does Lolita somebody or another. So, rather than have to delete 99 , I find it easier to approve only the non-spam ones.
Although, I did not approve one asshats today, who spammed about how homosexuality is a choice and people can get cured. It was annoying to see it 10 times.

I decided to celebrate with a new skin since I do not have enough time to start over with WordPress today.
It’s darkish, maybe reflective of my mood, and it starts Milla Jovovich, the girl I would go gay for.

I am getting emails that you all are commenting, but the comments are not showing on the blog.
I was lazy and upgraded this to 3.0. I must have mucked something up.
Crap.
That’s it. Tonight, I switch to Wordpress.
Posted in Geek Talk | No Comments »
I cannot even get to MovableType anymore to get the default templates if I am a free user?
Now THAT pisses me off.
note to self: switch to wordpress this weekend.

I just used Mt-Medic to change all my author permission’s and I got RID of that pesky little Melody!
Thank you MT-Medic and my friend Cyn!
Posted in Geek Talk | No Comments »
I wonder if I am stuck forever using MovableType 2.66 because of the author problem. I cannot delete the author Melody.
So, if I try to install the free version, it will think I have more than one author.
This bites.

Okay, so it seems like I am able to get back the site, but not the layout.
I am not sure what is happening, but bear (bare) with me.
Off to work. NO!!!!!!!!! I want to stay and play!

Why are my comments returning an error of questionable content?
I do not want any language censored? Is this a new MT thing or something in a plug-in?
HELP!

Does anyone know why, when you scroll down my blog, everything starts moving over the left?

After admiring Christine’s Cookie Crumbs and Jennifer’s Etc, I decided to have a little side blog for myself.
In the case of One Girl’s Life…Overflows, it (so far) is just links of things I want to keep handy, and I love that I can categorize them using MT.
I have also added a sidebar entry that will show the last four overflows added. In case you are interested, it’s there! If not interested, it will still be there. LOL.

Sorry to be so boring, but I gotta keep track of this.
Today I:
added category to entries
added category index page
built includes indexes in MT
change side stylesheet
downloaded oscar’s sub comments doohickey
Posted in Geek Talk | No Comments »
Tracking changes made today…
1. added recent comments, still deciding if I like it
2. added a link to my blogroll, deciding if I like it better if it opens in a new page.
That is all.

Um, never ever reinstall MT unless you have to.
It’s not pretty.
Not that it is not easy or anything, but you lose all your banned IPs. Heh.
Posted in Geek Talk | 3 Comments »
I imported all my entries twice. *flops*
I have deleted back through July, but if you are going back any further than that, you may be seeing double.

Anyone know when they are coming back?
I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEED their skinning instructions. I want to redo mine. I hate the way it works now. *stabs it so many times*
Posted in Geek Talk | No Comments »
Ecstasy! Ever since the spammers attacked, I have been wanting to change the default number of comments shown when I entery my Manage Weblog Screen in MT.
Blessings and many thanks to The Girlie Matters for posting the instructions on how to do this! Even a scaredy-cat like me was able to do it!
edit: and now the link actually takes you to the tip! *thwacks self in the head*

But new to me…
After purchasing Newzcrawler, and not being able to make it work with Zone Alarm, and getting pissed and never using it again, I have still pined for an RSS feed.
Enter Bloglines. Browser-based reader.
I am loving it. I especially find it handy for updating my BlackList.

It was so darn cold here, when I saw this beach scene from Cowboy Bebop anime, I just had to corral it and make it my default for a bit.
If you can’t see it, click default in the side bar, if you can see it and you are not digging it, just hit Choose A Skin! I currently got 8 for you to choose from!
Posted in Geek Talk | No Comments »
Yeeha, thank you Julie at Blog Moxie!
If you cannot see the Spice Girls, select See Default Skin over in the sidebar.
If you can see them, and you hate it, go to Choose Your Skin!
*dances*

Does anyone have a clue where on my hard drive I would find the file with my Mozilla Bookmarks?
I cannot seem to find it, and I would like to back it up.

This one is called “Retro Dollie”
Feel free to choose it from the sidebar!

Remember 5.25 discs?
Remember the sleeves????
I especially remember this one, from when I worked there.
Go take a stroll down memory lane.

Pain meds make me creative.
So, I threw together a simple new skin.
To select it, either go to “Choose a Skin” in the sidebar, or simply hit “See Default Skin".

I am googling my head off and seem to be unable to find what I am looking for.
Edited:
Nested Divs in MovableType?
Anyone know of a tutorial?
*is feeling fried*

If your cookie is set to some other skin, you can see the new one by clicking See Default Skin in the side bar.
Inspiration? Rocky Horror Show, raspberry sherbert and the need for something brighter.

I am slowly building back up the skin library since the overhaul.
Today, I added back in the mostly white “Is This Thing On?” Skin.

I just made a new skin. Not work safe. I think it is quite sexy.
And I rebelled and designed it at 1024x768, so sorry to those are still viewing at 800x600.
Select Sexy Red from the Skin One Girl menu in the sidebar. I have not yet added a screenshot to the gallery.
Thank you to Rebellious Conformity for the nicked wallpaper, link found at Joni’s.

I did not make this the default because it is very dark, and not all eyes enjoy that, but here is the screenshot.
You can select it over in the Skin the Site section. It is called Blue Rose.

Christine has finally come through with a voice of reason on this BlogShares thing.
I had taken my BlogShares link down because it felt too much like a competition, about who was most popular, and I just did not want to go that route. I never even worried about “delisting", I am just not playing anymore.
I can’t take the mindfuck of knowing where I fall in all of that.
But read Christine’s, it’s really good. I even learned more about the weblogs ping from her post.

I’ve created and selected a new default skin.
I am calling it “Passion".
I am really in an interesting color phase in my life, where my moods can be strongly controlled and influenced by color.
I am stepping outside my comfort zone and designing in different colors and vibes.
So, if you are set on another skin, and you want to see Passion, just click “Skin the Site” in the sidebar and change away.
Faerie is also back after a brief vacation.

I am like a kid with a new toy, I cannot stop playing.
There is a new skin available, if you want to reskin.
(points to the sidebar where it says “Skin the site!”
Here’s the screenshot!

I added a new skin to the gallery, it’s the Peace skin, click Skin The Site if you want to check it out. If you have never been here before, it should be the one you are seeing.
peace.

Found at: Big Pink Cookie.
I love this, you can enter your blog’s URL and it will generate a list of blogs recommended just for your reading pleasure. I was shocked at how many of the ones I already have blogrolled popped up!

I have tried Eclectic Academy and I really like them. It’s only $20 per course.
I love online learning in general.
In fact, I think if I never had to leave my computer, I would be perfectly content.

I’ve just spent the last two hours making minor tweaks to the blog.
I am realizing now that I do not need a calendar on my blog. You can probably check the date in the corner of your computer.

I just downloaded, installed and tested the other popular blogging software. After much playing around, I have decided to stick with this one. (Don’t hurt me Jess!)
Although I love the capabilities of the other as far as formatting the layout, I prefer all the built-in stuff this one has like the recent entries, the categories for entries, etc.
So, rather than go crazy trying to decide which to use, I am sticking with this one and moving on to the all important decision of choosing a domain name which will be used solely for my blog.

I hope I have finally got this dang thing set up correctly. As someone who has QA’d instructions in the past, the instructions that came with this blog software were not that accurate.
First they say “Skip this step” then later, you really did need it.

Okay, so, it seems to be working. I guess for the next few days I will be figuring out how to change the colors of my lovely new blog.
All you Luffable Nutz, I blame you for this!
