I just burned this.
I was going to put the Bing Crosby/David Bowie on there, but it was the wrong version.
I know, you wish you were me. It’s okay.
p.s. I know “O Holy Night” is on there twice. I love that song so much I pondered burning a CD of nothing but that song in different versions. If you know where I can get it in French, let me know.
p.p.s. I am not a Christian, I just like Christmas songs.

Tonight is the rerun of her gaffe, even though it was edited out.
I just caught her first song.
A) SO obvious she is lyp-synching.
B) Her movements are so… contrived.
C) that fucking batty-eyelash-flirt thing with the camera?
Some one please come over and flog me till I bleed. That would be preferable to seeing her perform again.

That’s a 2004 Gap ad with a screen cap from the 2002 ad, just so you can see.
Do you understand what this MEANS?
The HOT Gap Guy is back!
Remember him?
I don’t think I have ever seen such a spontaneous lust from women.
Can someone please Tivo the Gap Ads for me?

I wish they would bring back that old commercial. *sigh*

Yes, I know I am behind. In fact, I still have not watched the entire first episode.
This is due in part to the fact that Iceland is my DREAM. I want to go there so bad, and they are CAMPING on Vatnajokull! (Vat-NAH-Yo-Kool) (yes, it does bother me that one of the last great areas of nature is being “tourist-ized", but I digress.)
Nonetheless, I love this show. It amazes me how it only takes a little while to come to love some of the teams and hate others.
Me? It was a new record for hate. I started hating Jonathan in the opening segment. The whole time that the intro stuff was being done, he, in his “Look at ME! Discover ME!” yellow shirt, just kept jumping up and down.
Did anyone else want to knock him out?
So, don’t spoil it for me, I have only gotten as far as the teams realizing they were staying in tents on Vatnajokull. If you post a spoiler here, I will hunt you down and make you eat spoiled meat.

Well, since I have posted about this on 20 November for the past couple of years, might as well not break a tradition.
Let’s run down the list:
Jude Law – Rori says… Nope. Too…clean or something. Too…European? Is that possible? It’s like he overdoes his European-ness.
The rest of the People “Off the Charts List”
Orlando Bloom – No.
Jake Gyllenhaal – If you like children, I guess.
Usher – Hell No, the Ego is the killer.
Colin Farrell – Not unless I decide that kissing ashtrays would be a good thing.
Brad Pitt – Hella YEAH
Matt Damon – No, just no.
Ben Affleck – I’ve said no before, I will say no again.
Bruce Willis – Yummy.
Johnny Depp – Oh Yeah Baby.
My votes?
Vincent D’Onofrio
Dave Matthews
Bono
Bill Clinton (yeah, I said it)
John
Fathers who show up for their kids

But could you do me a favor?
I don’t want to see any gutless cadavers tonight. No sternums, no hearts, nothing.
Just tell me the story. I get the rest. They are dead. They got autopsied.

So, what’s your favorite lyrics?
My favorite snippet is:

The tears we cry is the laughter that keeps us coming back for more
The space between
The wicked lies we tell to keep us safe from the pain
It makes me remember I am okay.

I just watched the morning show where she came back to visit and that girl should be given the “Sweeping Generalizations” award.
She says that all black women on reality TV are portrayed as aggressive, in a negative light?
I think she has a lot of nerve speaking for all her sisters in that fashion. I don’t recall Vecepia from Survivor as being aggressive, quite the contrary. And I am too sleepy to try to think of more.
I think her stupidest mistake was saying that a woman will not win because to Trump they are just eye candy. I am sure Carolyn, obviously one of Trump’s highest executives, will really appreciate that remark.
What a dork. Lose the chip.

Winamp v 5 rocks. With the pay version, only $14.95, you can rip mp3s from your own CDs. This makes me so very happy. But even better, you can still rip the songs from your CDs in a winamp format, so in case you are one of the poor people who does not have a portable MP3 player, you can still create quite an impressive playlist. Me? I have over 200 CDs. Imagine the possibilities.
This morning my dog decided she loves the song Twentieth Century Boy by T-Rex. She goes happy go crazy nuts when it comes on.
Me, I am currently digging Just F*** Me by Cherry Bikini, available free from Amazon.com music downloads. That and Gackt, Vanilla Unplugged. Yum.

About 10 years ago, I read a book that I wish I could find again.
I do not recall the title, I know the other was in the first half of the alphabet by remembering where it was on the library shelves.
The premise of the book was that there is a new saviour every 2,000 years, and the new one was in utero and she was a little red-haired girl.
Does ANYONE know this book?

Wow. I have not been watching Trading Spaces as much as I used to, but I did catch one episode tonight.
The designers were Laurie and Kia.
Kia’s room did not do much for me, it had 3 grey walls, one orange wall, purple bedspread with shiny silver painted platform bed. It did not look complete when she was through, but as she said, she was flying by the seat of her pants.
Laurie’s room, as always, was completely done, and very excellent. The layout of the furniture was very creative. She had her hair straightened in this epi, and at times, her resemblence to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis was startling.
But big fun starts March 7, Trading Spaces Home Free starts! Teams of homeowners compete to have their mortgage paid off! I can’t wait.

I was traumatized once by a really nasty scary Jonathan Winters (true story) and I worry that maybe comedians are all really nasty scary people.
But I digress.

I have not yet watched my recorded episode from last Wednesday. I am treating it like a fine wine, and letting it age a bit before I pop its cork.
BUT, I have just learned that they are moving The Apprentice BACK to Thursday night since American Idol apparently kicked its ass.
Nothing unusual about that. The thing I found weird was this quote from Mitch Metcalf, NBC’s senior vice president for program planning and scheduling:
“Two of the hottest shows on television right now are ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘American Idol.’ We think it’s a disservice to viewers to have them squaring off against each other”
WTF? That’s a mighty sweet sentiment coming from a network. Since when do they care that they pit the best programs against each other? I never saw Friends moved for Survivor, or Law and Order:SVU moved so it did not interfere with NYPD Blue.
It’s like my momma always said, Don’t piss on my face and tell me it’s raining, Mitch. You moved it for YOU. Not for me.

Well now, vh1 has a spiffy idea with their latest programming effort, Bands Reunited.
Tonight’s episode was reuniting Berlin! I was so happy I caught it. I saw them in concert at the Universal Amphitheatre and although it scares me to no end to think that was about 20 years ago, apparently it was. *flops* As I recall, that was a really good concert. They sang “Sex, I’m a…” and then acted out some sexy stuff behind one of those huge screens where you could only see their shadows.
Tomorrow night, Romeo Void will be reunited, which honestly, I cannot think of one song of theirs except “Never Say Never". As I recall, that song was very edgy and only those of us who were really out there danced to that. Heh. How funny. Now they have songs about milkshakes and ass. I miss the olden days.
The rest of the bands they are going to reunite are:
A Flock Of Seagulls - remember the hair?
Dramarama - *blank*
Extreme - their More Than Words video and song made me swoon.
Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax!
Kajagoogoo - Cuz you’re too shy shy, hush hushhhhhhhhh.
Klymaxx - Did they sing Meet Me in the Ladies Room?
Squeeze - Black coffee in bed with that lead singer, anytime!
The Alarm - *blank again*
Fun memories.

The One Where Edward Called In Sick…
If I was the homeowners who had only gotten $817 spent on me out of the $1,000, I would feel so cheated! I was really disappointed and felt that Kia was not enthusiastic about Edward’s design, and therefore, it was only done… kinda.
Christy? For once, I liked most of her room. I did not like the fireplace, because that beige fireplace will get black with soot very quickly. But maybe it will be easy to wash?
The worst part was seeing a commercial for the one next week, where Hildi is going to put 50,000 feathers on someone’s wall. Poor, poor people.

I love my bondage fantasy as much as the next girl, but the bedroom Doug Wilson did last night was WAAAAAAAY over the top.
Sadly, there are no Before/After pictures yet on TLC.com, but it can be described in two words: Death Row.
There were bars on the windows, a prison mural on the wall behind bars. It was so morbid. It was a master bedroom. And he used toilets as a bench!
Wow.

R. Kelly is the winner of my Asinine Quote of the Day award.
In case you did not know, R. Kelly is a singer, who has been indicted on charges of child pornography. He is free on bond awaiting trial.
In reference to his being criticized, he said:
Osama bin Laden is the only one who knows exactly what I’m going through.
*snort* Too bad bond cannot be revoked for stupidity.
Here is the full quote:
“People can say whatever they want about you without knowing the facts,” Kelly tells Blender magazine in its October issue. “They can criticize you without even knowing you, and hate you when they don’t even know you. All of a sudden, you’re, like, the bin Laden of America. Osama bin Laden is the only one who knows exactly what I’m going through.”

The media is making a very big deal about Demi Moore, age 40, dating Ashton Kutcher, age 25.
Wonder why they virtually ignored the fact that Sandra Bullock, age 39, has been dating Ryan Gosling, now age 22, for months? Well, I guess they broke up now, but still?
It’s a larger age difference. These things just make me wonder and wonder.

Maybe I have been watching too much Nip/Tuck, but I had the hottest dream of my life last night.
My costar? Julian McMahon.
In RL, he is a modelizer, methinks, so that would leave me out, but he is welcome in my dreams ANY time.

Did you know that most Brendan Fraser movies are not only graced by the presence of the inimitable Brendan, they also have fab soundtracks?
Right now, I am listening to the With Honors soundtrack. The cover of It’s Not Unusual sung by Tanya Donnelly of Belly is GREAT!

Bwa-ha-ha! Did anyone see Heidi’s post-boot interview on the Early Show? I had recorded it and just watched it last night.
They let viewers call in to ask her questions and they just hammered her! I loved it!
Caller 1 asked her, in essence, where she got off acting like a “Prom Queen", laying around doing nothing.
Caller 2 called her and Jenna “Primadonnas” and asked about her alienation of Christy.
Caller 3 asked her if she projected her views about being cuter, prettier and thinner on her students or had she “gained enlightenment” in the Amazon.
I was ROTFL. Heidi said “Ouch!” when the questions were asked.
Then she ended by saying she played the game as a “hardcore athlete”

Oh.my.gosh.
Casting for the new Superman is down to two contenders. Brendan Fraser and some newcomer.
(okay, his name is Matthew Bomer, but he can be new in something else, dammit)
Brendan would be awesome in this role. His wide audience appeal has already been demonstrated in George of the Jungle and The Mummy.
*crossing fingers*
The only down-side is they want to cut costs so hiring the newcomer could be the answer. Bastards.
And, speaking of Superman, if you want to make a donation to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, you can go here.

Just another of my usual exciting Thursday nights, watching CSI.
Tonight’s episode had them seeking evidence in a landfill. Right nearby, bulldozer type vehicles were dumping more trash.
They were not wearing face masks. Does that seem realistic to you? Can you imagine how bad that must smell?

Day before yesterday I was feeling under the weather because the huge pink monsters that live in throat called tonsils decided they were gonna get really big and puffy and throw their weight around.
So, what’a a girl to do except watch TV?
I somehow happened on the movie Jezebel, from 1938, starring Bette Davis and Henry Fonda.
It was fabulous! I have never really seen an older Bette stuff… she was stunningly, breathtaking away BEAUTIFUL.
I’ve always longed to live in the days of long skirts, cotillions and chivalry, men with chaps and leather boots and whips….WHOA! Getting off track here.
