The One Where Edward Called In Sick…

If I was the homeowners who had only gotten $817 spent on me out of the $1,000, I would feel so cheated! I was really disappointed and felt that Kia was not enthusiastic about Edward’s design, and therefore, it was only done… kinda.

Christy? For once, I liked most of her room. I did not like the fireplace, because that beige fireplace will get black with soot very quickly. But maybe it will be easy to wash?

The worst part was seeing a commercial for the one next week, where Hildi is going to put 50,000 feathers on someone’s wall. Poor, poor people.

My blog, as a screenplay

Thursday, November 27th, 2003

I saw this on someone’s blog, but I lost it in the back button! If it’s YOU, you can tell me and I will give all credit to you.

Using a website of your choice, you can go here, type in the URL and voila! A screenplay.

Here’s a snippet from mine:

ONE WEEK LATER

MEG RYAN and ONEGIRLSLIFE.COM are shopping for new crockery. A message comes over the loudspeakers.

MEG RYAN
What did that just say?

ONEGIRLSLIFE.COM
I can only think they thought with T gone, they might be safer?

MEG RYAN
Really? This large department store’s management decisions are questionable at best.

She looks up to see RICHARD GERE standing there. He is the manager of the department store.

RICHARD GERE
Hello, MEG RYAN. Perhaps you could offer me advice on how to run my store.

MEG RYAN
I don’t think so, RICHARD GERE. I took an instant dislike to you when we first met.

ONEGIRLSLIFE.COM
Apparently, he is “A sensitive artist with a passion for life".

MEG RYAN
Yes, ONEGIRLSLIFE.COM, good point. So you see, RICHARD GERE, we can never fall in love.

Born in East L.A.

Thursday, November 27th, 2003

*sing the subject to the tune of Born in the USA by Springsteen*

Yes, I was. Born in Los Angeles. As in California. It’s a cross I bear daily.

Kate @ Electric Venom posted about an article she read about the use of the terms “master” and “slave” being used to refer to parts in your computer. Don’t worry, this will all tie in as soon as you read the quote:

Los Angeles officials have asked that manufacturers, suppliers and contractors stop using the terms “master” and “slave” on computer equipment, saying such terms are unacceptable and offensive.

bush. pfffft.

Monday, November 24th, 2003

So, the fucking idiot Bush had his first campaign ads out this weekend in Iowa.

UPDATE: Script for the ad is now behind the Extended portion.

He is running on the platform that his opponents are:

“are now attacking the president for attacking the terrorists.”

Yay @ presidential candidate and Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman who said the ad was:

“to get the public’s mind off the joblessness in America, the bad prescription Medicare drug bill … the energy bill, which sells out to lobbyists.”

Thank heavens that some of the staunchest conservatives I know are seeing him for what he is.

A BIG FAT LIARHEAD. I am truly frightened to think how much damage he’ll do if he gets in for another 4 years.

Spam rage!

Friday, November 21st, 2003

Oooh, a man threatened to kill a spammer and now he faces up to five years in prison.

And the article calls people who try to stop spam “Internet Vigilantes". That’s just weird. We bombard THEM with unsolicited email?

In other cases, Internet vigilantes have bombarded spammers with both unsolicited e-mail and regular mail and phone calls, launched attacks on spammers’ computers and posted spammers’ personal information on the Internet, according to reports.

Gosh, if I had more money, I would so register that domain name.

Belly Laughs

Friday, November 21st, 2003

Oh, gads, my friend Cynister just turned me on to this site:

Baby’s Named A Bad, Bad Thing.

This is many minutes of side-splitting laughter.

Excerpt:
I named my little girl Tenlee, simply because My husband and I liked it. It is pronounced just like it sounds. I hope she loves her name as much as we do.

Yes, she’ll love sounding like a teabag.

Military Question

Friday, November 21st, 2003

Isn’t there some rule in the military about all the children in the same family being drafted or sent to war? My mind is telling me there is… so if I am insane, feel free to let me know.

Shouldn’t the same thing apply to husband/wife soldiers?

There is a female soldier in Colorado Springs who was/is threatened with disciplinary actions that would have affected her veterans benefits. She refused to return to Iraq, so she can stay home and care for her seven (7!) children. Her husband is already there.

Since I do not know if the link will stay, I am reposting the article in the extended entry, with all respect and love to gazette.com. Article was written by John Diedrich.

Itching

Saturday, November 15th, 2003

I was perusing Prevention magazine, thinking how much it has changed (not for the better) when an article in the “Healthy Woman” section called “Infernal Itching” caught my eye.

(hey, I read anything and everything)

The topic is whether or not vaginal itching is always a sign of infection. Basically, they say no, and list some of the causes.

One of the causes is antibacterial soap. Fine, IMO, everyone knows that antibacterial soap is the devil and using it “down there” would be bad. It’s the next sentence that caught my eye.

“If you must use soap…” Say what? If we MUST? What are we to do, just splash some water on the yaya and say “Okay, good to go!” I think not.

But the insanity did not end there.

After listing some gentle soaps, this article says “If the itching does not subside in 4-6 weeks, speak to your doctor".

WTF? Four to six weeks? Yeah, I am going to walk around with vaginal itching for 4-6 weeks? Have these people EVER had such an itch?

I just thought that was really weird.

Judges in N.Y., Calif. Block Abortion Law

Opponents of the law said it is overly broad, lacks any exemption for the health of a woman seeking an abortion and could outlaw several safe and common procedures. They also contended it is the first step in a larger campaign to ban all abortions and undo Roe v. Wave, the Supreme Court’s 1973 landmark decision establishing a woman’s right to an abortion.
