Not according to the law.

A convicted murderer’s death penalty conviction has been overturned because the jurors used biblical passages in their deliberation, and in reaching their verdict.

I agree with the judge’s decision, and am amazed that this story is buried in the “Oddly Enough” section of the Yahoo news. To me, the decision on this appeal is very important.

Don’t flame me, you can use the Bible or Koran or Torah or Course in Miracles when rendering YOUR decision, but none of them belong in the jury room.

Did you know that most Brendan Fraser movies are not only graced by the presence of the inimitable Brendan, they also have fab soundtracks?

So, the Bush Administration has essentially “sued” to force Europe to lift it’s ban on genetically altered foods, now throwing in the reason that they have “undermined efforts to end hunger in Africa".

On the other hand, the Bush Administration has not yet signed the Anti-Smoking Treaty signed by 192 other nations.

So, he cannot do anything to potentially save the lives of his own citizens, but we are trying to force other nations to accept genetically-altered food to *cough* save hungry people in Africa. *cough*

Isn’t that called talking about both sides of your neck?

Body in Pipe an Unsavory Addition to Water

MANILA (Reuters) - Millions of people in Manila have been drinking super-chlorinated water this week as the body of a teenager remained stubbornly stuck in a major supply pipe.

Eeuuuuuuw.

You know, you go through life and you think some things are constants. Like Root Beer and Orange Sodas do NOT have caffeine. It’s just a rule.

So, as I sit here, having just downed my third can of Diet Sunkist Soda, searching for a picture of it so I can show you the weird logo, I find out it has freaking caffeine in it. 28 milligrams. The same as Dr. Pepper.

What they got, according to this lawsuit filed in Clark County District Court, was a terrible scare when their baby began choking on an object apparently left by the room’s prior inhabitant. You’ll also gag when you hear what lil’ Nicholas allegedly put in his mouth.

A lawsuit has been filed against Nabisco, specifically targeting the cookie Oreos, because of the “trans fats*” “hidden” inside the creamy filling and the crispy cookie.

Apparently Nabsico is the one company that has not tried to reduce the amount of bad fats hidden in their foods.

*Created when hydrogen is bubbled through oil to produce a margarine that doesn’t melt at room temperature and increases the product’s shelf life. *gag*

Bwa-ha-ha! Did anyone see Heidi’s post-boot interview on the Early Show? I had recorded it and just watched it last night.

They let viewers call in to ask her questions and they just hammered her! I loved it!

Caller 1 asked her, in essence, where she got off acting like a “Prom Queen", laying around doing nothing.

Caller 2 called her and Jenna “Primadonnas” and asked about her alienation of Christy.

Caller 3 asked her if she projected her views about being cuter, prettier and thinner on her students or had she “gained enlightenment” in the Amazon.

I was ROTFL. Heidi said “Ouch!” when the questions were asked.

Then she ended by saying she played the game as a “hardcore athlete”

*snort*

This day, I have been dreading. To see all the beautiful cards, to want to give her a card, and tell her I love her. To see her, to tell her she is not alone.

But no. I am alone.There is no mom for me to visit. A mom to tell me I have pretty hair and to tell me my puppy is lovely.

She was not here long enough. I wanted to be 60 with her. I wanted her to know the small things she gave me, that meant so much.

Like how she said when someone dies, a new star appears in the sky, and you can always look at the star and know your person is watching you. I was going to tell her that on her birthday, in April, but she died in January.

At about this time of day, a plane is coming in to land literally every five minutes. Not only is it noisy, it is s c a r y!

Sometimes the engines are squealing like the whole bloody thing is plummeting to the earth, instead of landing. Sometimes, I just grab my dog and wait for the end.

A woman escaped from jail today, kidnapped her son, and police shot her while she was holding him.

I sure as hell hope they find out what caused her to be taken to the hospital last night at 1 a.m. with seizures, because I can guarantee you this is not because of the marijuana they allegedly smelled coming from her jail cell.

(I know, she allegedly held her gun to his head, but I am skeptical)
